40 political movements and coalitions, called on the masses of the Egyptian people, to participate in the one million man demonstrations on Friday April 14th, in Tahrir Square, and in other squares in different governorates.
The Muslim Brotherhood group announced on Wednesday it joined the calls for the protests on Friday and would participate in the rallies, under the slogan “protect the revolution,” and against attempts to reproduce the former regime, through the nomination of the former vice president and the intelligence chief Omar Suleiman for the presidential elections.
The Secretary-General of the group, Dr. Mahmoud Hasanein, said in statements to Egyptian newspapers that the group announces its participation with the political forces, parties and coalitions in the one million person protests “protect the revolution” in response to popular demands, and against attempts by “remnants of the former regime” to re-produce the regime and undermine the revolution and return the pre-January 25, 2011 phase.
