Aswat al-Iraq: Police source said here today that six were killed and ten wounded in a bombed car blast near Samarra demonstration site.
The victims were preparing to pray in the site, when the explosion took place, as told to Aswat al-Iraq.
The source added that the car was cornered near the square and exploded before the prayers.
The explosion took place despite security precautions on Friday, where unified prayers would be made by thousands who poured into the square.
The speaker of Friday prayers confirmed that the sit-in will continue till their demands are met.
Samarra, south of Tikrit by 45 km, witnessed, for the last months, continued demonstrations and sit-ins in protest against governmental policies.
Tikrit, center of the province, lies 175 north of the capital, Baghdad.
