A hard core group of Quebec separatists plans to have its own security force on hand to keep things under control at its own protest against the monarchy next week.
The Resistance Network of Quebec says it expects about 300-people to attend the demonstration against Prince William and his wife Kate when they visit Quebec City.
At the same time they will deploy about 40- people to act as security and to ensure everyone remains calm.
The President of the group Patrick Bourgeois, says the security guards were all hand-picked for the job because of their size.
He says supporters are prepared to participate in acts of civil disobedience but without violence.
